Police are searching for a 40-year-old man they say beat and tied up an employee of a Placentia self-storage facility before stealing his car.
On Saturday, May 13, officers were called to a robbery about 8:50 p.m. in the 500 block of Porter Way. They found an employee with injuries to his head who said he’d been assaulted, said Capt. Eric Point.
“According to the victim, the suspect struck him several times in the head with a metal object and knocked him unconscious,” Point said in a release. “The victim said when he woke up, he discovered he had been tied up, his mouth taped shut, and a plastic bag was over his head.”
He was able to get free and call the police. The employee was treated at a hospital.
Officers found the employee’s car the next day in Tustin and identified Michael Anthony Davis, Jr. as a suspect. He is a transient but is known to frequent Placentia, Anaheim, Fullerton, Tustin and Santa Ana.
There is a $100,000 arrest warrant for Davis. He is considered dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information on Davis’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Placentia Police Department at 714-993- 8151.
