Birchwood Lighting, a Tustin manufacturer of high-end lighting fixtures, has been bought by Leviton Manufacturing Co., the nation’s largest manufacturer of electrical wiring equipment, the two companies said Thursday.
The price paid by Melville. N.Y.-based Leviton, a private company with an estimated annual revenue of $1.5 billion and 6,500 employees worldwide, was undisclosed.
Paul Weisbrich, managing director of investment banking for D.A. Davidson & Co. in Costa Mesa, which advised the 24-year-old Tustin firm in the deal, said Birchwood would remain in Orange County.
Birchwood, with 49 employees, is Leviton’s second Orange County acquisition. In 2015, the company bought Anaheim-based Intense Lighting LLC.
