ORANGE An employee of El Modena High School is in negotiations with police after barricading himself inside a school office with a gun, police said.
The Orange Police Department received a call about the incident at 11 a.m., said Sgt. Darrin Hall. The call came from the man’s brother who was with him at the school, Hall said.
The school, at 3920 E. Spring St., is surrounded by about 20 police officers, he said.
“They are surrounding the school and negotiating with him,” he said.
It is unclear at this time why the man is at the school with the gun, what job he has there and if there are students or school employees on campus, he said.
